About Me

I'm a stay at home mom of two wonderful children, Peyton and Nathan.  I'm also a military wife.  When Peyton was born I started reading labels and realized I didn't want her eating anything the stores had to offer and I needed to learn how to cook.  I'm self taught and through trial and error realized I have quite the knack for cooking and baking and I love doing it.  Baking is a passion of mine, though I don't have as much time to do it these days as I'd like.  Peyton loves to help me in the kitchen and thinks making any sort of dough is about the most fun she can have!  We currently are stationed in Yokosuka, Japan after 4 (long) years in Washington state.  So far I absolutely love Japan and am having a wonderful time learning the language and culture and watching my daughter make friends with children that don't speak any English.  She too is really enjoying learning the Japanese language with me.

Once upon a time the purpose of this blog was just to put all my amazing fattening recipes somewhere where I could keep track of them.  Now, I'm on a new track in my life.  A healthy track for the first time ever.  In the last year I've lost over 30 lbs. and find time every single day to exercise and make healthy meals for my family.  I've never felt better.  I hope to share some of my families favorite healthy recipes with everyone to help inspire others to want to be healthier and eat healthier.

The picture to the right is a picture of my babies.  Peyton is almost 5 now and Nathan is just turning 2.  I never could have imagined how rewarding being a mother could be.

I'd also like to say without my husband I'd be lost.  He is my anchor and is more amazing than words can describe.  Not to mention he is the person that has to eat everything I make, good or bad and like it.  He encourages me and pushes me to be the best at anything I do.
